It is believed that the functionality functions similarly to those seen in other social media apps, like Instagram and WhatsApp, which allow users to edit messages they have sent for a predetermined amount of time.
The employee responded with “baby steps” to a user’s question about if the same capability might be added to replies as well. Elon Musk’s reply on the page further supported the claim.
Editing posts and comments is possible with it, but it’s only available to Premium subscribers. Moreover, once delivered, direct messages cannot be changed.
As the function is expected to be developed, it is yet unknown if it will also be dependent on the premium subscription or if it will be accessible to all users.
